Family Camp Coordinator
Dates: Early June to Mid-August; see application for this year’s dates
Pay: $250-$260/week
The Family Camp Coordinator must be…
-
Able to sustain prolonged physical activity (i.e. paddling, hiking, etc.)

Emotionally and spiritually prepared for hard work in the service of others
-
Excited about working with youth and families and influencing their lives for the better
-
Engaged in the life of faith and willing to lead open discussion, Bible study, and devotions from a Christian perspective

Confident in leadership skills and prepared to lead adults who may be ‘out of their comfort zone’
-
Enthusiastic about being outdoors for extended periods. Extensive wilderness/camping experience is not necessary, but preferred.

Present for the entirety of staff training, usually the first two and a half weeks of June.

Over 21 years of age
Responsibilities Include…
-
Serve as main leader for family camp programs; lead other staff participating in these programs

Assist in preparing for family camp programs, including re-writing Bible studies and other programmatic elements for family use

Take responsibility, along with other family-camp staff, for the health, safety, and well-being of groups of all ages

Lead and teach wilderness skills, including canoeing, outdoor cooking, and camping skills
-
Act as a caring and encouraging role model of Christian life, emotional health, and compassion for others

When not leading family camp, lead a variety of wilderness trips including Montreal canoeing, flatwater canoeing, white water canoeing, and backpacking (see Guide-Counselor job description)

Assist with various in-camp duties when not with a group as assigned by the directors.
