Hivernaut

Dates: Early June to Mid-August; see application for this year’s dates

Pay: $225-$230/week

 

Hivernauts must be…

  • Emotionally and spiritually prepared for hard work in the service of others

  • Flexible and cheerful; willing to perform a variety of tasks as directed

  • Self-motivated and good at following directions and giving attention to detail

  • Willing to engage in the life of faith with the camp community

  • Excited to serve as the first line of hospitality for campers and guests

  • Over 18 years of age, or having completed high school

Responsibilities include…

  • Hospitality: housekeeping, setting tables, serving meals and snacks, maintaining cleanliness and order

  • Assisting with gear and food packing and clean-up for wilderness trips

  • Groundskeeping: lawns and trimming, gardening

  • Meal prep: assist the cooks, wash dishes, put away deliveries

  • Program: participate in leading campfire, other program duties as directed

  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to keep the camp running smoothly

A word about the position title: ‘Hivernaut’ is a historical Voyageur title of honor, designating those Voyageurs who stayed at the fort rather than traveling back and forth from Montreal.
